Rocky Road Residences required an IIC and STC rating of 55dB through the midfloor separating tenancies. During initial testing, the SPC flooring areas achieved an IIC of 46dB, falling short of the onsite performance target of IIC 50dB.
To close this gap, our Phonestar Lite system was specified as the acoustic solution, with a small customisation replacing the standard decoupling plate with GenieMat RST05. This system lifted the performance to an onsite-tested IIC of 53dB, comfortably exceeding the minimum requirement.
The Phonestar Lite system delivered a thin, easy-to-install solution that brought SPC areas into NZBC G6 compliance, without impacting the carpeted zones, which were already performing above code.
